Delivering Quality-Centric SCM Solutions
In our opinion, most SCM tools existing on the market place are either too simple, or very expensive, and unfortunately, quite few solutions are available in between. Moreover, most of these solutions are based on versioning and not configuration, and we wanted a tool offering more flexibility than just an agregate of all the last commitments until a given revision number, allowing at least conflict detection before the work really starts and not once it is finished.
Besides, SCM and bug trackers are always released as separate products whereas a native integration offers much more, without even arguing about setting the whole thing up.
A lot of open source solutions do exist, for sure, but looking for freewares should not be the major argument when choosing such tools, the return on investment offered by advanced solutions is so short. Moreover, this choice is also often motivated by the habits developers have with tools they already know, while some new ones - better - often exist too.
QArks.com is focussed on delivering quality tools to improve customers productivity: AVS has been designed to include all the features needed for a development team without the need to install third parties of any kind. With an all-in-one SCM environment, you will get a strong traceability system, with a simple yet efficient navigability between your code and your change requests.

Frédéric Fargon, from Seestream
As a project manager and developer I have used Telelogic CMSynergy 'continuus' for at least 6 years. One year ago, when we decided to switch to AVS, I have found it so intuitive and so close to 'continuus' that it was like a breath of fresh air without any effort.
More precisely, I have imported our 10000+ files source code base in AVS and started working using my 'continuus' automatisms. All task oriented change management system concepts are here, my current build process for version or patch release was directly applicable. In fact, AVS offers more flexibility than 'continuus' in terms of task selection when I am preparing the source code set for a version.
When I am using AVS as developer, the GUI is so intuitive and powerful that I can navigate my workspaces using many open tasks on many living versions of the project without being lost and with a minimal risk of confusion.
After one year with 120 change requests and 300+ tasks I have not encountered any problem of data corruption and never lost any file version. Our code base is now containing changes for 15 released versions but AVS is quite reactive: the developer's workspace interface has the same speed than the first day, when I am freezing a version the operation takes no more time than with 'continuus'.
With AVS I have experienced a top class customer support. As I have started with AVS version 3.0, program enhancement suggestions were encouraged. Thanks to AVS for incorporating in version 4 several of my suggested features for freeze and task postpone operations.
No need of expensive training sessions and the learning curve is so short that a commitment decision can be taken in a couple weeks rather than months. Today I am sure that AVS will be my versioning system for many years.
